Brian Adeba
Founder and Managing Director |Aarista Strategies

Brian brings more than a decade of experience across international affairs, conflict analysis, political risk advisory, and policy research. Prior to founding Aarista Strategies, Brian served as Deputy Director of Policy at The Sentry in
Washington, DC, where he led analytical and policy work focused on conflict economies,
kleptocracy, corruption networks, and atrocity-linked financial flows in Africa. He has also
worked as an analyst and contractor with Oxford Analytica and Transparency International
Defence and Security, supporting geopolitical research and advisory on governance risk and
international security.
Earlier in his career, Brian worked as a foreign affairs journalist with Embassy Newsweekly in Ottawa, covering Canadian foreign policy, international relations, and global security affairs. That background in translating complex global developments for non-specialist audiences continues to define his approach to client advisory: clear analysis, practical implications, no jargon.
Brian holds graduate degrees in War Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada and Journalism from Carleton University. His research and analysis has appeared across academic journals, policy publications, and major media platforms. He has been cited and featured by The Globe and Mail, The Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN International, Al Jazeera, and the BBC.
Through Aarista Strategies, Brian works with investors, corporate strategy teams, exporters, and organizations operating in or entering politically volatile markets — delivering focused, decision-oriented intelligence that helps leaders move early, reduce exposure, and build resilience in uncertain environments
